I had a very interesting conversation with somebody the other day.
He told me about his goals and what was holding him back.
"Whenever it gets hard, I just give up."
He's been through this cycle many times now.
Recognise he's out of shape
Try to change it
Fail
Repeat
Now, there are many reasons why somebody would give up when things get hard.
Lack of self-belief
Lack of purpose/direction
Don't understand their "why"
Being a pussy
But I don't want to waste your time with all of that.
I know you're busy today, and I want to be respectful of your time.
I'm here to deliver a short message for you today...
If you change nothing, nothing will change.
Read that again if it didn't go in.
The guy I spoke to is stuck in this bullshit cycle and can't get out.
He's doing the same thing over and over.
And failing every single time.
Remaining in a place of sadness, disappointment, and unfulfillment.
The definition of insanity is literally 'doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.' (I'm paraphrasing)
I can tell you this guy said he really wanted to improve his life.
But he still was under the impression that it's okay to quit when things get hard.
It was really baffling to me that he expected that he was going to achieve better results again next time, without having to make sacrifices.
My head almost fell off tbh.
But that's beside the point.
What can you learn from this conversation?
You can use this as a wake-up call to be better.
Do better.
If you want a better existence on this planet, you better start fucking working for it.
It's never gonna suddenly fall into your lap.
You want something, go and get it.
Have a boss day.
